Master's Programme in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology, 120 hp
Masterprogram i neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi, 120 hp, 120.0 credits avancerad,
The
Master’s program in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology is aimed
at students with bachelor degree in chemistry or biology and who have a
desire to study how the nervous system functions in molecular terms.
The goal of the program is to provide the student with a sound
multidisciplinary background in neurochemistry, molecular neurobiology,
peptide chemistry and molecular biology. Neurochemistry research helps
us to better understand molecular mechanisms behind neurodegenerative
diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
The program
consists of one compulsory course and at least three specialized courses
which can be chosen among five courses, one or two courses free of
choice and a Degree Project which is conducted in a research group at
the Department of Neurochemistry. The program provides a good platform
for further studies e.g. graduate studies, as well as for a professional
carrier both nationally and internationally.

Master's Programme in Peptide- and Protein Chemistry, 120 hp
Masterprogram i peptid- och proteinkemi, 120 hp, 120.0 credits (avancerad)
The
Master’s program in peptide and protein chemistry is given jointly by
the Department of Neurochemistry and the Department of Biochemistry and
Biophysics. The main focus of the program is to give a broad insight
about the chemistry, chemical properties, functions and applications of
peptides and proteins. The first year of the program consists of four
compulsory courses (45 credits in total) and course(s) corresponding to
15 credits which can be chosen among five specialized courses. The
second year of the program consists of one or two courses free of choice
and a Degree Project which is conducted in a research group at the
Department of Neurochemistry or at the Department of Biochemistry and
Biophysics. The program provides a good platform for further studies
e.g. graduate studies, as well as for a professional carrier both
nationally and internationally.
